About Enchanted Tools

Change the face of robotics with us.

We have already announced our success in developing a prototype in 12 months. During this time, we have also found an enchanted home for our operation, built a talented team, defined our identity.

We are Enchanted Tools, we are dreamers with a can-do attitude who are rewriting the rules.

We believe the best is yet to come, our new challenges are also exciting :

  • we will bring our prototype to the factory doors by increasing the maturity of our product and embedding eco-sustainability in our design and manufacturing process,
  • we will keep developing our partnerships with great, like-minded companies,
  • and, of course, we will continue to strengthen R&D for ever increasing innovation.

Job description

Our robots rely on complex software and hardware, to manage this complexity while getting the most performance out of our hardware, we use a combination of third party and internal softwares.

You will take part in developing our high performance robotics framework to provide features such as: robot telemetry recording, ipc communication, software configuration, simulation support, hardware abstraction layer, error reporting … and the associated tools to make the life of robotics developers easy and error less. Think of it like an in house ROS equivalent.

Your day to day job will consist of the following tasks:

  • Developing core components, testing them on the robot, supporting developers to use them.
  • Implement some high level features using the framework to demonstrate its usage.
  • Participate in software architecture design to evolve the framework with the robots features and make the software easily testable.
  • Participate in software quality effort: review code, write unit tests, integration tests, simulation scenarios etc.
  • Integrate third party libraries and our partner’s software into our stack

  • You have at least 2 years experience writing complex c++ applications, preferably in embedded or resource constrained systems: robotics, video game, audio, finance …
  • You like clean code and clean architecture and like helping your fellow developers reach higher levels of code quality.
  • You are familiar with linux and writing applications for linux
  • You have some robotics knowledge: sensor data processing, control loops, or some specific domains like grasping, navigation, interaction. Familiarity with ROS is appreciated but not a requirement.
  • You have working experience developing software in team and using git workflow: you’re not afraid of rebase conflicts

This may not be the best suiting position today if:

You need a very structured framework & environment at the time.

It is because we are not over-processed that we had been so creative, innovative and able to deliver a unique prototype within a year.

What happens once you’ve applied?

We commit ourselves to answer you within two weeks: if it is negative, do not hesitate to contact us again after having consolidated a new professional experience. And if it's positive, the process starts:
